Company Benefits

Our competitive benefits package is designed to offer you a wide range of health, retirement and career-oriented benefits. This summary highlights some of the features of The Care of Trees’ benefits and other programs.

Paid Vacation

Employees earn (accrue) vacation time on a monthly basis. Employees start with 2 weeks of vacation and can earn up to 4 weeks based on years of service.

Personal Days

We will provide you with four additional paid personal days each year. You will earn one personal day at the end of each calendar quarter month (March, June, September, and December 15 – well, almost at the end). To earn your personal day(s), you must have started on or before the first day of the calendar quarter and worked to the end of the quarter. As an added bonus, you will receive an additional day if you are here from January 1st through Dec. 31st.

Holiday Pay

We have 6 paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas.

Banked Dollars

We know that your hours can be a bit sparse when cold weather rolls around so we allow you to save half of the hours that you work in excess of 45 hours per week to be paid out at a later date. You can do this during our busy season from March 16th to December 14th.

Gain Sharing

Safe practices and quality work are top priorities at The Care of Trees. Your district may receive additional compensation to be shared with you based on the quality and safety of your team’s work.

Referral Bonus

We are always looking for great productive employees throughout the company. We have a $1,500 to $2,500 referral bonus program that is available if you refer an applicant and we hire that person on a full-time basis.

Discount on Tree Care Services & Christmas Décor

Both full-time and part-time employees are eligible to receive a discount of 40% off of our regular rates for time and materials used. Immediate family members including spouse, children, parents, stepchildren, brother, sister, brother/sister-in-law, grandparents, and parent-in-laws are also eligible for this discount.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)

At no cost to the employee, ESOP provides eligible employees with a beneficial ownership stake in The Care of Trees. An employee must be 21 years of age to qualify. The stock is held in a retirement plan which is in addition to other savings such as the 401(k). Through the ESOP, we all share in the successes and growth of the company as we truly are owners.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)

ESPP allows employees to invest some of their own money into the success of the company. It provides employees with an ownership stake in The Care of Trees. An employee must be 21 years of age to qualify. Participants may share in the successes and the growth of the company as owners.

Clothing Allowance

If you are a full-time production or field employee who has worked at least 30 calendar days, you are eligible for a clothing allowance. This allowance is paid into your reserve account (kind of like a savings account) each week that you work. You can use this money to purchase eligible clothing, footwear, and accessories.

Company Leased Vehicle Program

The Company Leased Vehicle Program is a benefit to our teammates who hold positions as Sales Arborist Representatives, District Sales Managers and in upper management. For a minimal fee taken out of your paycheck, you are able to drive the company-owned vehicle for both business and personal use. Insurance, vehicle maintenance and fuel are also provided as part of this program. Several different vehicle models and options may be offered.

Fitness Program

The Company supports employees who are interested in a fitness program. This allowance may be applied toward a health club or exercise class such as martial arts, aerobics, kickboxing, weight loss program, etc. Allowance will count toward Tuition Reimbursement, which has a 10% cap of annual salary per year. Dollar for Dollar match: Maximum of $200 per calendar year reimbursement.

Savings Plan

Employees may participate in a weekly payroll deduction savings plan that allows them to put money aside. The plan allows for high interest, easy deductions and easy access to funds. You can save at The Care of Trees by earning 6% annual interest, (this is not an outside agency).

Direct Deposit

We offer all of our employees the convenience of electronic funds transfer of their paychecks directly into their account at their local bank.

401(k)

The 401(k) retirement savings plan gives our employees the opportunity to secure a more comfortable and enjoyable retirement. Employees are eligible the first of the month following their one year anniversary date. An employee must be 21 years of age to qualify and must also have 1,000 hours of service for the year (average of 20 hours per week). The Company will match 50¢ on the dollar for a maximum match of $2,000 per calendar year.

Medical Plan Choices

This program provides employees with quality, cost effective health coverage offered by an extensive network of physicians and healthcare providers through HMO, POS, and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) plans.

Dental Plan

The Care of Trees offers a choice between two dental plans, an HMO and a PPO type plan. Plan availability is dependent upon which part of the country our teammates reside. This benefit is paid for by the employee.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Every full time employee is covered by a $50,000 Life Insurance policy and AD&D (Accidental Death & Dismemberment) after 90 days of employment at no cost.

Short Term Disability

Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability 90 days from their hire date. The maximum automatic payout is $500.00 per week and there is a choice of either a 13 week or a 26 week plan.

Learning and Development Tree Care University

The Company offers a variety of leadership education, on-going industry certified training, and professional and career development opportunities to help you maximize your talents and grow in your career here at The Care of Trees.

English as a Second Language

Many of our Spanish speaking employees wish to learn, or become more fluent in English. We offer free, in house English classes after hours, with half-pay for time spent in class.

Tuition Reimbursement

Regular/full-time employees are eligible for tuition assistance after completing 90 days of employment.

Relocation

This unique benefit assists new and current employees when they advance their career within other locations in the company. We support talented individuals and their families by helping them find a new home or rental property, sell an existing home, and move their household goods.
